Bring your little ones to the bookshop on Saturday, March 17 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm to hear Dean Coe read from his newest Chesterton adventure, Chesterton Saves the Bunnies!
Chesterton, Cape Cod’s good-natured weasel, once again surprises us with his unique and non-weasel like behavior as he demonstrates empathy and caring for fellow creatures in the wild. Remembering a time when his own family was faced with losing their habitat, Chesterton leads a family of endangered and threatened Cottontails to a homeland that can be safe for many years to come. Chesterton Saves the Bunnies is the first in Coe’s new series featuring threatened and endangered species in New England.
Dean Coe has been a Cape Cod wash-a-shore since moving to the Cape from S. E. Kansas in 1983. Drawn by the wonders of the sea and the quaintness of a small coastal community, the Coe family returned to New England and settled in Sandwich, MA, Cape Cod’s oldest town. In 2014, after 30 years as an executive recruiter, he published his first children’s book, Chesterton Keeps His Town Jumping, a story about the Sandwich boardwalk. Chesterton Saves the Bunnies is the fifth book in the Chesterton series featuring Chesterton, the good-natured weasel. Dean is nourished by the sea and finds stimulation for his stories as a director of the Thornton Burgess Society and Green Briar Nature Center and the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. A former trustee of the Sandwich Public Library, he is a member of The Society of Children’s Writers and Illustrators.
