Peter Dubay will be at Titcomb's Bookshop on November 1st from 4:00 - 6:00 PM to talk about Thanks-for-Giving Day and to sign copies of his children's book, Thanks-for-Giving. The book is a story about a special young boy who applied the lessons taught by the Pilgrims and the Native People in fresh, innovative ways to create a new family tradition—Thanks-for-Giving Day.
The purpose of Thanks-for-Giving Day is to give children and families the tools they need to give of their time, talent and treasure. Philanthropy and volunteerism are wonderful ways for parents to share their core values with their children. And, in some cases, children can teach their parents about how to give back to the causes they support. Thanks-for-Giving Day is the first Thursday of November each year marking the beginning of National Philanthropy Month.
Peter Dubay is a professional fundraiser with more than forty years of experience. He has worked with non-profit organizations throughout New England, but mostly on Cape Cod and the South Shore of Massachusetts including Plymouth. His professional mission is to improve the quality of life in the communities that he serves and to promote the values of giving, especially to children and young families.
We hope that you will use this book to start your own family tradition—Thanks-for-Giving Day.
